Miya George the actress hailing from Kerala and familiar to the movie lovers of both Malayalam and Tamil movies got engaged to her long-time family friend and businessman, Ashwin Philip from Kottayam. Ashwin runs a construction business in Ernakulam.
Miya George started her career on television and later shot to fame with her performances in films like Red Wine and Memories. She made her debut in Tamil cinema with Aamarakaaviyam, which featured Arya’s brother Sathya in the lead role.
The function was held as a low-key ceremony at the groom’s place in Kerala with only family members in attendance. Initially, they had planned to host a grand engagement function at Kottayam, the native of Ashwin. However, due to coronavirus outbreak, they organised it in a small way. We also hear that the couple is all set to get married in September and had planned to invite many celebrities from the industry if the situation gets back to normalcy.
The actress is currently working on Vikram’s upcoming Tamil film, Cobra, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. She is one of the female leads in the film. She is also waiting for the release of her Malayalam film Kanmanilla, in which she will be seen playing the role of a cop. Driving License starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Prithviraj’s was her last released movie in Malayalam.
Born as Gimi George on 28 January 1992, the 28-year-old actress is better known by her stage name Miya. She is also into dancing and modelling. Kicking off her career with supporting roles in television shows, she made her film debut by playing short roles in the films Doctor Love and Ee Adutha Kaalathu. She was selected the Kerala Miss Fitness in 2012 and played her first lead role the same year in the Malayalam film Chettayees. She has an elder sister, Gini, who is married to Lijo George and is settled in Bengaluru.
